The much-anticipated third instalment of the Malayalam crime thriller Drishyam, starring Mohanlal as Georgekutty, has been postponed. The film is directed by Jeethu Joseph.

Drishyam 3 was earlier schedule to release on April 02, 2026. The new release date of the Jeethu Joseph-directed film coincides with Mohanlal’s birthday. The movie will hit the screens worldwide on May 21, 2026. Drishyam 3 is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.

Mohanlal took to social media on Monday (March 23, 2026) to announce the new release date of the film. Reports say the ongoing tension in the West Asian region is responsible for the film’s delayed release.

Actors Meena, Esther Anil and Ansiba Hassan will reprise their roles in what will be the final instalment of the franchise. Mohanlal was last seen in Hridayapoorvam, directed by Sathyan Anthikad, which was released in August 2025.

Jeethu Joseph’s last directorial venture was Valathu Vashathe Kallan, starring Biju Menon and Joju George. Released earlier this year, the movie failed to impress the audience.

The Hindi adaptation of Drishyam 3 starring Ajay Devgan is slated to release in October 2026.
