The Delhi police have arrested a woman and her sister-in-law for conspiring to conduct a fake Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at her employer’s house in south-east Delhi’s New Friends Colony and robbing him of about ₹4 lakh and some valuables, the police said on Thursday. As per the complaint filed on February 24, three unidentified persons dressed in police uniforms forcibly entered the couple’s home on February 11, claiming to be authorised by the ED to conduct a search. After the wife managed to call her grandson, a lawyer, the assailants took about ₹4 lakh from a bag containing ₹12 lakh and fled. “The accused disclosed the fake raid was conducted by the help’s husband, son, and their relative. All three are absconding,” the police said.
