T.R. Shanmugasundaram, a member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) North Coimbatore district chief executive committee, has resigned from his party post after being denied a ticket to contest the Mettupalayam Assembly constituency. In a resignation letter addressed to the DMK president and Chief Minister, Mr. Shanmugasundaram cited family commitments and multiple responsibilities as the reasons for stepping down from his position.
