‘DMK cannot win alone,’ councillor tells Mayor during property tax debate at Tiruppur Budget meeting

A verbal exchange broke out between the Mayor and a Congress councillor during the Tiruppur Corporation’s Budget meeting held on Thursday, over failure to rectify the deterioration in solid waste management, and for not rolling back the increase effected in property tax rates.

The exchange began after Mayor Dinesh Kumar criticised Congress party, stating that repeatedly raising past issues would affect the identity. His remarks triggered protests from members of the Congress.
