Door-to-door distribution of Form 12D to voters aged above 85 years and persons with 40% and above disabilities to opt for postal ballot will be done till April 3. Those who want to use the option of postal ballots should give their consent through the filled-in Form 12D to the booth level officers by April 3. Virudhunagar District Election Officer and District Collector N.O. Sukhaputra said that though the basic facilities, like ramps, wheel chairs and volunteers and toilet facilities for the elderly voters and differently-abled persons would be provided at the polling stations, the Election Commission had given them the option of postal ballots that could be cast from their house. A team of polling officials, including two polling officials, one videographer, micro observers and one security personnel would make door-to-door visit to those who opt for the postal vote.
