Collector Sheik Abdul Rahman inaugurating the deworming campaign in Villupuram on Monday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT Collector Sheik Abdul Rahman on Monday launched the National Deworming Day campaign, which distributes Albendazle tablets to 8,45,153 children and women, excluding pregnant and lactating women in Villupuram district. The campaign will cover 6,79,198 children in the age group of 1 to 19 years and 1,65,955 women aged 20 to 30 years. The tablets were distributed through schools and colleges, and anganwadi centres. In Kallakurichi district, the Health department has proposed to cover 4,48,969 children this year.
