Dindigul Collector S. Saravanan launches voter awareness logo ‘Dindu’ in the presence of election observers at the Collectorate in Dindigul on March 19, 2026.

To commemorate the establishment of Slender Loris Conservation Centre in Dindigul and create voter awareness, Collector S. Saravanan on Thursday unveiled ‘Dindu’, a Slender Loris mascot for the district.

The Slender Loris named ‘Dindu’ was unveiled at Dindigul Collectorate. ‘Dindu’ was dressed in a traditional Tamil attire, a white shirt and white veshti, and displayed the indelible ink on the index finger.

Mr. Saravanan said recently the Conservation Centre, the first of its kind in India dedicated to conserving Slender Loris was inaugurated in Dindigul district. To commemorate the establishment of the Centre and taking into account the upcoming Assembly elections, the mascot was created to be used in the voter awareness campaigns in the district.

Kadavur Slender Loris Sanctuary is spread across Dindigul and Karur districts. The Conservation Centre was inaugurated on March 7 and has been established to support long-term conservation, research and public awareness on Slender Loris.
