Devotees offer prayers at the Goddess Kamakshi temple of Bondada veedhi in Vizianagaram on Thursday.

All major temples in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts witnessed an unprecedented rush of devotees, due to Parabhava Nama Ugadi celebrations held on Thursday. Devotees chose to offer prayers in the Arasavalli Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple,  Lord Vishnu’s Srikurmam, Mahashiva temple of Srimukhalingam and other temples in Srikakulam district.

Temple authorities at the Astalakshmi Sametha Venkateswara temple in Ayyannapeta, Sri Kanyakaparameswari temple, Ramanarayama temple and other temples located in Vizianagaram made elaborate arrangements.

Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinivas, Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appala Naidu, Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy and others participated in the Ugadi celebrations organised by the government at the Rajamannar temple in Vizianagaram.

Public representatives and officials prayed that the district would enter the path of development with the construction of the Bhogapuram international airport and other projects.

On the occasion of Ugadi, they felicitated priests, poets and writers within the temple premises.
