Thousands of devotees thronged Gunadala Mary Matha Shrine and offered special prayers to Lourdu Matha on the second day of Gunadala Utsavams, on Tuesday. Devotees from Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and places across Andhra Pradesh attended the 102nd Utsavams at Bishop Grassi High School.

Visakhapatnam Arch Bishop Udumula Bala, Nellore Bishop Pilli Antony Das, Vijayawada Bishop Telagathoti Joseph Raja Rao and priests performed mass prayers and blessed the devotees.

Cultural troupes from different places performed programmes as part of the occasion.

Festive fervour gripped Gunadala and neighbouring areas, with shops arranged on both sides of the roads near the Church. The Gunadala Church was illuminated for the festival.

The Revenue, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC), Police, AP-Transco, and other departments officials made elaborate arrangements for the Utsavams, said Mansignore Muvvala Prasad.
