File | Photo Credit: SIDDHANT THAKUR The Union Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned four projects in Telangana under the PRASHAD scheme, with a total outlay of ₹146.50 crore, the Rajya Sabha was informed on February 5. The information was shared by Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in response to a question raised by MP Anil Kumar Yadav Mandadi. According to the reply, the projects were approved under the Centre’s Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) scheme which seeks to strengthen tourism infrastructure at key pilgrimage and heritage destinations across the country As per the reply, the development of Jogulamba Devi Temple at Alampur, sanctioned in 2020-21 at a cost of ₹38.90 crore, was completed. Of the sanctioned amount, ₹33.07 crore was released so far. The Development of pilgrimage and heritage tourism infrastructure at Rudreshwara Temple, popularly known as Ramappa Temple in Mulugu district, was sanctioned in 2022-23 with an allocation of ₹62 crore. An amount of ₹32.73 crore was released, and the project is currently ongoing. Another project, focused on the development of pilgrimage infrastructure at Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, was also approved in 2022-23 with a sanctioned cost of ₹41.38 crore. So far, ₹8.43 crore was released, and work remains in progress. The fourth project pertains to the development of basic amenities at Goddess Renuka Yellamma Devasthanam, sanctioned in 2024-25 at a cost of ₹4.22 crore. No funds are released yet, and the project is listed as ongoing.
