Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin laid the foundation for various sports infrastructure development works through video conference from Chennai on Wednesday. The works include the renovation of a synthetic athletic track at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai at a cost of ₹8 crore, construction of an international-standard trap and skeet shooting training academy at a cost of ₹17.01 crore at Keerapakkam in Chengalpattu district, construction of new synthetic athletic tracks at the district sports complexes in Salem and Ramanathapuram. He also distributed cheques to sportspersons who won medals in national and international tournaments.
