The Department of Environmental Science has installed a rooftop solar system to generate the electricity required for the department’s activities. Dinesh The Department of Studies in Environmental Science at Kuvempu University has installed a rooftop solar system, with the help of donors, to generate electricity. The system, with the installed capacity of 10 kW, generates enough electricity for the activities of the department, including the laboratory and a solar EV charging station. The facility was inaugurated at a ceremony held on Saturday. Sharath Ananthamurthy, Vice-Chancellor of the university, inaugurated the solar EV-charging station, with which the electric buggies of the campus can be charged. The department set up the solar system with the help of Model Infra Operations Pvt. Ltd., a supplier of metal fabrications.
