The Gajuwaka police on Sunday arrested a gas cylinder delivery boy, Y. Apparao, for allegedly absconding with about 42 LPG cylinders without delivering them to consumers, taking advantage of the ongoing LPG shortage. Gajuwaka police station Inspector A. Pardhasaradhi said that Apparao had been working as a delivery boy at a gas agency in Pedagantyada for the past one year and allegedly committed fraud by misusing his position. After committing the offence, the accused had been absconding for the past 10 days. The matter came to light when customers approached the gas agency and enquired about their pending cylinder deliveries.
