Senior IPS officer S. Davidson Devasirvatham has been posted as Director-General of Police(DGP)/ Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption. The post fell vacant after Abhay Kumar Singh retired in January. A 1995 batch IPS officer in Tamil Nadu cadre, Mr. Devasirvatham has held the position of Police Commissioner of Madurai city and as Inspector-General of Police, West Zone in Tamil Nadu. He held the posts of the Additional DGP (ADGP) Intelligence, Headquarters and Technical, before his promotion as DGP, Armed Police.
