The book explores the philosophy and social relevance of the Dasoha tradition propounded by the 18th-Century saint and social reformer Sharanabasaveshwara, highlighting the enduring values of compassion, service and social harmony and their relevance in contemporary society. Speaking on the occasion, Doddappa Appa emphasised that the teachings of Sharanabasaveshwara were rooted in the ideals of equality and service to humanity. He noted that the tradition of Dasoha symbolises the spirit of giving without expectation and promotes a culture of collective well-being. Dakshayini S. Appa, president of the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardhak Sangha, appreciated the initiative of bringing the philosophy of Dasoha to a wider audience through a well-researched publication. She observed that the concept of selfless service and sharing of resources continues to hold immense relevance in building a compassionate and equitable society. The book presents historical insights and reflections on the philosophy of Dasoha and its influence on social and spiritual life, which encourages the practice of the values of generosity, social responsibility and universal brotherhood. Secretary of the sangha Basavaraj Deshmukh, former Vice-Chancellor of Sharnbasva University Niranjan Nisty, and others were present.
