Customers staged a road blockade in Sivaganga on Wednesday after a private gas agency refused to provide cylinders. Due to the conflict involving the U.S., Israel and Iran, there has been a shortage of gas cylinders across India. Further, server issues have caused difficulties in booking gas cylinders via mobile phones. Consequently, those unable to book and those who had already booked and were waiting for cylinders besieged the private gas agency on Melur Road in the district. When the agency refused to provide cylinders and failed to give proper responses, customers staged the protest with empty cylinders on the Sivaganga-Melur road. This caused a disruption in traffic.
