Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) for the implementation of a CSR-funded project named ‘Establishment of Central Academic Block at Cusat’. The agreement follows the approval of the university Syndicate aimed at strengthening the varsity’s academic infrastructure. The MoA was signed by Arun A.U., Registrar, in the presence of M. Junaid Bushiri, Vice-Chancellor, according to a release. In the first phase, a central academic block will be set up at a cost of ₹1.01 crore being supported through MDL’s CSR funding. The total estimated cost of the project is ₹2.73 crore. The project is expected to be completed in 18 months. The central academic block will serve as a skill development centre for students, it said.
