The festival also marked the finale of the Rasmi Film Society’s golden jubilee celebrations. Film director Melattur Ravi Varma inaugurated the valedictory function on Sunday. He said that the screenplay began to receive importance in Malayalam cinema only after the arrival of the renowned writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair. Rasmi Film Society president and poet Manambur Rajanbabu presided over the function. Secretary Anil K. Kuruppan, V.M. Suresh Kumar, and Kahlid V. Melmuri spoke. S. Sanjay welcomed the gathering. Indira K.T. proposed a vote of thanks.
