With the objective of transforming Madurai into a clean and green city, CREDAI Madurai organised a ‘Clean Madurai’ event at Tamukkam Grounds here on Saturday.

The highlight of the event was a human chain formed to spread awareness of the ‘Clean Madurai’ social initiative. More than 2,000 participants, including school students aged 5 to 16 years along with their parents, took part.

Students from educational institutions including Mahatma Schools, CEOA Matric Higher Secondary School, Vedic Vidyashram Senior Secondary School, Velammal Bodhi Campus – Anuppanadi, Drona Global School, Vallaba Vidyalaya, E.B.G. Matric Higher Secondary School, Idhayam Rajendran Residential School, Sri Aurobindo Mira Universal School, MVH Skills Development Centre and Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Matriculation Higher Secondary School took part in the event.

Mahatma educational Institutions founder Premalatha Panneerselvam, CREDAI office-bearers Ramakrishnan, Muthu Vijayan, Yogesh, Jayachandran, VV Entertainments Vijay Vishwa, Adithya Mahendran were among those who participated in the event, a press release said.

The three-day fair concludes at the Tamkum convention centre on Sunday.
