They said that the situation has severely affected the common man and middle-class households. Staging a protest in front of the Collectorate, CPI Chittoor district secretary S. Nagaraju said that the BJP-led Central government increased LPG prices, citing the ongoing war, placing an additional burden on people already struggling with soaring prices of essential commodities. He alleged that despite official claims that there was no shortage, consumers were unable to get cylinders even after booking them. Mr. Nagaraju said small tea stalls and tiffin centres were also facing hardships due to the non-availability of commercial LPG cylinders, forcing some establishments to shut, leaving workers without a livelihood. He demanded that the government ensure an uninterrupted supply of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders and take strict action against black marketing. CPI leaders V.C. Gopinath, K. Mani, P. Raghu, and Gajendra Babu participated.
