Ramanaidu addressing a party meeting in Chittoor on Sunday. | Photo Credit: Special arrangement The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Sunday urged the Centre to take up a caste census along with the long-pending population census before the local body elections, likely to be held by the end of this year across Andhra Pradesh. While addressing a party meeting in Chittoor, CPI State executive member A. Ramanaidu said that the 2021 national census had been delayed and pointed out that the last caste census was conducted in 1931. He added that while data was collected in 1941, it was never released.
