A special court for Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) cases in Hyderabad sentenced a 23-year-old Arabic tuition teacher to five years of rigorous imprisonment for misbehaving with an eight-year-old girl. The court also imposed a fine of ₹5,000 and directed the payment of ₹1 lakh as compensation to the victim. The accused, Abdul Qayyum, a resident of G.M. Colony in Chandrayangutta and a native of Madhubani district of Bihar, was convicted in a 2019 case registered at Chandrayangutta police station.
