Additional District and Sessions Judge, Fast Track Sessions Court-1, Mangaluru, J.S. Mohana, on Thursday, April 2, sentenced a resident of Lakshadweep to six months and imposed a penalty of ₹5,000 on finding him guilty of possessing cannabis. The Judge allowed the appeal by the government against the order of acquittal by the Third Judicial Magistrate First Class Court, Mangaluru. The Judge convicted 34-year-old Sailahuddin for offences under Sections 8(C) and 20(B)(ii)(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
