A courier van, which transported ₹40 crore worth of jewellery, was released after several hours of investigations in Namakkal. On Friday (March 20, 2026), the election flying squad officials, during vehicle check-ups near Mallur, halted a private courier van that transported ₹40 crore worth of jewellery in 141 boxes to Madurai from Salem. The officials checked the bill and found a mismatch and took the vehicle to the Rasipuram Tahsildar office. Information was also sent to the Income Tax and GST officials, who also came to the Tahsildar office. The officials verified every bill with the jewellery until Friday midnight. As proper bills were submitted, the van was released from the office.
