Couple killed after autorickshaw overturns in Kozhikode

A couple died after the autorickshaw they were travelling in overturned at Aanakkampoyil in Kozhikode on Tuesday (April 7). The deceased were identified as Shiju Joseph, 49, and his wife Bincy, 41, of Aanakkampoyil. According to the Thiruvambady police, the accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Pullurampara road.

The mishap happened when Shiju, who was driving the vehicle, was taking Bincy, an employee at a private firm, to her workplace. The autorickshaw lost control while descending a slope, crashed into a nearby electric post and overturned. The vehicle was completely damaged in the impact.

Although residents immediately carried out rescue operations and rushed the couple to a private hospital, they could not be saved.
