Counselling will be held at the Sankaramatham in Visakhapatnam on February 8 to admit eligible candidates, said representatives of the Trust and Peetham on Thursday. Speaking to reporters, Mandhatha Lakshmi of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham and Dr. T. Ravi Raju, president, Sankaramatham said: “The objective of the Trust and Peetham is to preserve, protect and propagate Sanatana Dharma by nurturing trained Veda and Smartha pundits, Adarsha Gruhinis, Nadaswara Vidwans, Pravachana Karthas, temple musicians and cooks trained in Naivedyam preparation, essential for sustaining temple traditions. Courses include Intermediate (MPC, BiPC, MEC, CEC), Prakshastri, B.A., B.Com., B.A. Sanskrit, BBA, B.Sc. Mathematics, BALLB, B.A. Music and, from this academic year, B.A. Food & Nutrition. For Brahmin boys, Integrated Veda & Smartha Patasalas in English, full-time Veda Patasalas, Gurukulas, Samskrutha Smartha Patasalas, Ramayana, music and Bhagavatham Patasalas are available. Admissions will be strictly as per Peethamguidelines and community norms, based on parental background and government-issued certificates.
