Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan urged the electorate of the Thripunithura Assembly constituency to correct the “mistake” made during the 2021 Assembly election, in an apparent reference to the narrow defeat of Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate M. Swaraj to his United Democratic Front (UDF) rival K. Babu.

He was addressing a public meeting organised as part of the election campaign of LDF candidate K.N. Unnikrishnan. Mr. Vijayan reminded voters of the consequences of the 2021 verdict. He, however, observed that the verdict of 2021 in general had reshaped Kerala’s political history.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the LDF had consistently prioritised development and welfare, taking up projects towards that end and introducing new ones, while the UDF, he alleged, had shown no commitment to the people of the State.

Mr. Unnikrishnan was present. The meeting was presided over by P.V. Chandrabose. LDF leaders including S. Satheesh, C.M. Dinesh Mani, T.C. Shibu, K.N. Sugathan, C.N. Sundaran, P. Vasudevan, M.C. Surendran, V.G. Ravindran, George Kottur, Tony Maniyankod, M.G. Murukesan, K.J. Basil, and N.A. Najeeb addressed the gathering.
