A coordination meeting to ensure the smooth conduct of the Class 10 (SSLC) and Class 12 (Plus Two) public examinations was held at the Collectorate here on Friday.

Collector S. Kandasamy said the Plus Two examinations will be conducted from March 2 to March 26, 2026, and the SSLC examinations from March 11 to April 6, 2026. A total of 23,307 students will appear for the Class 12 examinations and 24,470 students for the Class 10 examinations across the district.

The Collector directed officials to ensure comprehensive security and logistical arrangements at all examination centres. One male and one female police personnel will be deployed at each centre, while armed police, along with route officers, will escort question papers. A monitoring officer will be appointed at every centre to supervise the conduct of examinations until completion.

Officials were instructed to provide uninterrupted power supply and operate special buses for students on examination days. Fire and Rescue Services personnel will remain on standby with vehicles.

Special arrangements will be made for differently abled candidates, with assistants deputed by 8 a.m. to help them access examination halls and return safely. Nearby Primary Health Centres and government hospitals will keep doctors and nurses ready for emergency medical assistance, and sanitation workers will maintain cleanliness around centres, the Collector said.
