Unidentified persons murdered a cook near Moontradaippu on Sunday night. Police said cook S. Esakki Pandi, 50, of Panankulam under Moontradaippu police station limits in the district was living alone as his wife and son are running a snack shop in Kerala. As Esakki Pandi was returning home via Panankulam – Poolam Road after attending a housewarming ceremony on Sunday night, unidentified persons hacked him to death. As he was found murdered on Monday morning with cut injuries on the head, the passers-by alerted the police. Moontradaippu police sent the body for a post-mortem and have registered a case.
