The Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) said consumers can report power issues directly via WhatsApp at 9493681912 or by calling the toll-free number 1912. This is to ensure that complaints regarding bills, power cuts or faulty equipment are addressed without the need for office visits, said CMD I. Prudhvitej, while interacting with callers at the ‘Dial Your CMD’ programme held on every Monday. CMD received 45 complaints on Monday’s programme, the second in its series. The CMD noted that the programme is a vital bridge between the department and the public. “We are committed to resolving problems brought to our notice through this weekly call-in session as quickly as possible. Thirty-eight out of the total 47 complaints received in the last programme have been addressed,” he said. The complaints received on Monday highlighted several recurring issues faced by residents and farmers across the EPDCL limits. Some of the complaints related to the delays in granting new power connections for farms, requests to shift dangerous electric poles and sagging wires, complaints about delays in replacing burnt-out transformers, errors in monthly electricity bills and requests for ‘name transfers’ on connections, and frequent voltage fluctuations affecting household appliances.
