Younger generation should conserve nature and natural resources and disseminate the message of conservation, Minister for Social Welfare P. Geetha Jeevan has said.

Addressing the valedictory function of the workshop for 25 teachers and 500 students on ‘Wildlife conservation: Challenges and solutions’ held here on Tuesday and distributing certificates and handbooks to the participants, Ms. Geetha said the State Government had taken this initiative to train over 20,000 students across Tamil Nadu on conserving wildlife, nature and natural resources. The participant students should disseminate the message they learnt during this workshop to others and discourage others from using one-time-use plastic products posing serious threat to environment.

“Since you have been trained by the knowledgeable Indian Forest Service officers, you should carry this message throughout your life and encourage others to follow it strictly. If everyone of us do our duty in conserving nature, the generations to come will also follow this practice to make earth a safer place to live,” Ms. Geetha said.

District Forest Officer Ilaiyaraja, Chief Educational Officer Muniyasamy and others participated.
