Addressing a gathering in Meerut, PM Modi said improved law and order and safer travel have transformed the region, boosting confidence among residents and investors. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Speaking at a rally, PM Modi took a swipe at the Congress for its protest at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. The Prime Minister said, ‘Congress turned a global event into an arena for its ‘gandi aur nangi’ [dirty and shameless] politics.’ The Prime Minister said, “I ask Congress leaders: The nation already knows your true form. What was the need to strip further? The ‘crazy [sarfira] and reckless [be-lagaam]’ leader of Congress is bent on destroying the country.” The Prime Minister said, “Today, developed countries are eager to connect with India because they see their future in India’s development. The world sees India as a power that can provide solutions to the challenges of the 21st century.” PM Modi said that “there was a time when Congress Government couldn’t finalise agreements with developed countries even if it wanted to.” He said that “the BJP’s priority is development of country, and prosperity of citizens”. The Prime Minister said, “Under the Congress-SP regime, progress would not have been possible amid infrastructure scams.” PM Modi said Metro services have been expanded to more than 25 cities across the country while under the previous Congress Governments, Metro services were only in five places in the country, he said. The Prime Minister said he shares a special connection with Meerut as he had started his election campaigns for the 2014, 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha polls from the city.
