KARIMNAGAR

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar accused the Congress of “offering the Karimnagar Mayor’s post to the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) as part of a ‘behind-the-scene collaboration’.

Continuing his tirade against the ruling party at a street-corner meeting in Karimnagar on Friday, Mr. Sanjay said, “Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stayed away from Karimnagar during his visit to the district on Thursday realising the imminent defeat of the Congress party in February 11 elections to the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation (KMC).”

He also slammed BRS leaders, former MP B. Vinod Kumar and Karimnagar MLA G. Kamalakar, for “falsely claiming credit” for ₹1,500-crore Central funds brought by him for the development of KMC so far. Additionally, Central funds to the tune of ₹50 crore have already been approved for the KMC, he added.

He alleged that several BRS corporators were arrested for encroaching into land meant for the poor. ‘We must not allow such land-grabbers to win,” he said.
