Congress hails the Budget as one fostering development of coastal region

Manjunath Bhandari, MLC, on Friday, said the State Budget 2026-27 will provide fresh impetus to the coastal economy and education sector, while describing the Budget as a visionary development charter.

In a statement, Mr. Bhandary said, “Fishing is a major source of income for the district and the move to establish a state-of-the-art ‘Center of Excellence’ here is welcome. This will provide modern technology to fishermen. The announcement of modern transport facilities like sea plane and heli-taxi to boost coastal tourism will help in recognising Mangalore as a tourist destination on a global scale.”
