The condition of Ashwini Kannan (21), a final-year student of B.Tech Data Science at IIT Palakkad, who was admitted to a private hospital in Coimbatore after sustaining injuries in an attack by an unidentified youth on Monday night was reported to be stable. The student belonging to Salem was said to have been proceeding to the mess on the campus when she was confronted by the assailant. He had escaped after inflicting bleeding injuries on her forehead and head. Ashwini Kumar was immediately treated at a hospital in Palakkad and thereafter shifted to Coimbatore.
