A community hall was opened in the name of former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram commemorating his 119th birth anniversary in Nellore on Sunday.

Constructed at a cost of ₹1 crore, the ‘Babu Jagjivan Ram community hall’ was formally opened in the city’s 37th division by Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, in the presence of TDP’s constituency co-convenor Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, former Mayor Nandimandalam Bhanusri and local corporator Bobbala Srinivas Yadav.

Citing the development spree witnessed in his constituency over the last fortnight, Mr. Sridhar Reddy recalled the inauguration of 240 developmental projects worth ₹27 crore on a single day and thanked the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for sanctioning the funds for the same.

Calling the community hall as a ‘symbol of social justice’, he urged the local public to make use of the facility for social gatherings and to chalk out developmental projects.
