Praveen Kumar presented ‘Community Conservation Leadership Award’ to five persons during the World Wildlife Day celebration here on Tuesday. The five selected candidates who have made notable contributions towards wildlife and habitat conservation were awarded ₹25,000 cash prize during the event. Five awardees – V. Karthi, P.R. Vishwanath, T. Badrinarayanan, N. Raveendran and S. Ramasamy – who were selected under categories of biodiversity conservation, wildlife conservation and research, natural conservation and awareness – were recognised for their dedicated efforts in promoting community-based conservation initiatives.
