Artist Devi Pramod with her work | Photo Credit: Siva Saravanan S The gallery walls at Kasthuri Sreenivasan Cultural Centre were awash with fresh canvases of varying sizes. In view of International Women’s Day month, it hosted an exhibition by Kasthuri Sreenivasan Trust with Parvath, a Coonoor-based art gallery, bringing together the work of 29 women artists for an exhibition titled Her-Art. From oil-on-canvas to watercolour and acrylic, a wide gamut of art was displayed for visitors to the gallery. The exhibition featured a total of 60 art works by 29 artists, curated by Shobha Premkumar, founder of Parvath. It was the tenth exhibition by Shobha, who launched Parvath out of a passion to support emerging artists, and the gallery’s first in Coimbatore. Work by art-school trained established artists shared space along with those of self-taught artists, many of whom were having their work displayed in a gallery for the first time.
