Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has decided to upgrade his camp office at the Dr. Marri Channa Reddy Human Resources Development Institute with high security features and related infrastructure. The State Government has invited tenders for the project, estimated to cost ₹9.08 crore, to enhance security features aligned with high security standards for venues hosting high-level government meetings. Tenders are invited for providing a compound wall with concertina wire, containers, watch towers, furniture, and other security provisions, along with flooring and an approach ramp on the west side road for the VVIP guest house at the MCRHRD campus. Tenders are invited on the e-procurement platform from contractors having registration with the State Government and the Government has set 24 months deadline for the completion of works. The last date for submission of the tender document through the e-procurement platform of the State Government is 4.30 p.m. on March 4. This will be followed by opening of the technical bid the same day at 5 p.m. and the price bid will be opened at 1 p.m. on March 6. According to the tender document, the MCRHRD hosted several high level reviews, administrative consultations and policy meetings. Security planners opined that elevated watch towers would enable surveillance from vantage points to detect suspicious activity early while reinforced boundary protection would help prevent unauthorised entry. The presence of the VVIP accommodation and major meeting venues with the same complex further strengthened the case for enhanced protection standards comparable to those followed at the Central Government facilities. The Government acknowledged the public debate triggered because of the decision, with some questioning whether additional spending was necessary when security personnel and CCTV systems already existed. “Others, however, argued that upgrades for facilities used by top constitutional authorities were guided by professional threat assessments and protocol requirements rather than routine administrative decisions,” the Government said. The city’s transformation into one of the country’s fastest growing and investment-friendly nature reflected sustained public investment, institutional reforms and long-term urban planning. “The proposed upgrades and development highlight the Government’s focus on administrative efficiency, public safety and strategic metropolitan growth,” it said.
