Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L. Murugan on Saturday said that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is in fear about the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as it has formed a grand alliance.

Speaking to the reporters in Namakkal, Mr. Murugan said that on Monday (February 23), Hindu Munnani and other Hindu outfits have invited people to chant Kandha Shasti Kavasam in their houses, demanding the lighting of Karthigai Deepam at Thirupparankundram.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is participating in a public meeting in Madurai on March 1 in which NDA leaders including Edappadi K. Palaniswami, T.T.V. Dhinakaran, Anbumani Ramadoss, and G.K. Vasan will be present, the Union Minister added.

Responding to a question about the DMDK’s alliance with DMK and former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam meeting Mr. Stalin, the Union Minister said that having an alliance is the choice of the party.

The Enforcement Directorate wrote letters three times to Tamil Nadu DGP to take action on the alleged ₹888-crore corruption against Municipal Administration Minister K.N. Nehru. But no action was taken and now the High Court intervened in this matter. This shows that the Chief Minister is allegedly favouring the accused involved in corruption, the Minister said.
