Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has announced six new projects for the residents of Kanniyakumari district, at the welfare aid distribution event held in Nagercoil on Wednesday. Speaking at the event, he said that to meet the drinking water needs of Kanniyakumari municipality, which receives a large number of tourists, a new project will be implemented at a cost ₹28.20 crore to provide additional drinking water from Pazahayar river. Furthermore, a new Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at an estimated cost of around ₹25 crore would be constructed in the area.
