HYDERABAD

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao said in Bhupalapally that people who benefited from all the poll promises of the Congress should vote for the party, or else vote for the BRS. He also said that CM Revanth Reddy had destroyed the political atmosphere in the State with his vulgar language, and he chose vulgarity as he had nothing more to show to the people.

Mr. Rama Rao also warned police officials dancing to the tunes of Congress leaders and said power was not permanent and those crossing the limits would be dealt with once the BRS comes back to power. He said the coal belt people should not forget the ‘coal scam’ of the Congress.

Meanwhile, BRS on Monday lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission alleging serious violations of the model code of conduct by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during an official programme in Vikarabad district when Vikarabad municipality is going for elections and requested action against the Chief Minister.

In the complaint made to the State Election Commissioner, a delegation of the BRS explained that the Chief Minister had violated the election code by participating in an official event under the ‘Praja Palana – Prgathi Bata’ programme and distributed cheques to 6,650 women self help groups under the bank linkage component of the Stree Nidhi scheme.

They alleged that the Chief Minister had sought votes for Congress by turning an official programme into a political event and made the participants raise their hands in support of the Congress and chant ‘Jai Congress’ slogans. It amounted to violation of the election code directly and misuse of the official machinery by the Chief Minister.
