Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with his ministerial colleagues, Bhatti Vikramarka, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy, G. Vivek and Ponguleti, handed over accident insurance cheques of ₹1 crore each to the families of Electricity department employees who lost their lives while discharging their official duties. The cheques were presented to the family members of Orsu Suresh and Mukhtar Beg, who died in the line of duty while working in the power department. The Chief Minister lauded Deputy CM and Power Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for coming forward to support the bereaved families and ensuring enhanced financial security measures for power sector workers. Highlighting the government’s welfare initiatives, he said that, as per the findings of the CPEC survey, all identified eligible families would be covered under a ₹5 lakh insurance scheme. Stressing that families should not be pushed into distress upon the death of the head of the household, Mr. Reddy said the government had introduced a family insurance scheme to provide financial protection in such situations. He added that accident insurance coverage of over ₹1 crore has been extended to employees of the Electricity department and Singareni workers, underscoring the government’s commitment to safeguarding workers engaged in high-risk sectors.
