The Class 10 State Board examination commenced on Wednesday, with students appearing for language paper.

As many as 33,940 candidates (17,177 boys and 16,763 girls) from 446 schools had enrolled for the examination in Tiruchi district at 177 centres. About 33,490 students turned up, and 446 candidates remained absent. Of the 565 private candidates who enrolled for the test, 437 appeared, with 28 being absent. About 178 chief supervisors, 181 departmental officers, and 37 route officers were deployed to monitor the process.
