A Civil Defence volunteer training programme was inaugurated on Saturday, March 14, at the Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences in Pocharam, Medchal–Malkajgiri district, with the aim of strengthening community preparedness for disasters and emergencies. Around 200 medical students are participating in the programme as trainee Civil Defence volunteers, officials said.
