Despite being overwhelmed by grief of losing his mother, a middle-aged man exercised his franchise in the civic polls in Jammikunta of Karimnagar district on Wednesday. Hours after the death of his 80-year-old mother due to age-related illness on Tuesday night, Ismail of Jammimunta cast his vote at a local polling station in the elections to the Jammikunta municipality on Wednesday morning. According to sources, his wife and daughter also exercised their voting rights in the face of overwhelming grief. They were among the first voters, who turned up to exercise their voting right, at the polling station at Kothapalli Colony in Jammikunta. Local residents appreciated the grieving family members for fulfilling their civic duty towards building a strong democracy in the midst of grief.
