The Central Integrated Pest Management Centre (CIPMC) in Ernakulam organised a one-day awareness programme on the national pest surveillance system recently. The programme, held under the aegis of the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage, brought together nearly 100 officials. J.P. Singh, Plant Protection Adviser, presided over the event. Sunita Pandey, Joint Director (Locust and IPM Division) of the Directorate; Elizabeth Jaya Thomas, Assistant Director of the Centre; and R. Renjumol and Venu Babu Bolli, Assistant Plant Protection Officers, spoke at the event.
