Parameshwara on Tuesday said he has directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to probe the alleged kidnapping and killing of a real estate businessman from Anekal. The accused had abducted him to Tamil Nadu, where he was tortured and then murdered. The Anekal Police, investigating the case, have arrested the prime accused, while efforts are being made to track down the others involved. Mr. Parameshwara was responding to a question raised by Pradeep Eshwar, Congress MLA, in the Legislative Assembly during zero hour. “Based on the initial reports we have received, I have instructed that the case be handed over to the CID. The investigation will be carried out by them,” Mr. Parameshwara said. Demanding justice for the deceased’s family, Mr. Eshwar had earlier urged the Home Minister to transfer the case to the CID. “One person has been arrested, and two suspects are still at large. They should be arrested at the earliest,” he said.
