The SP was addressing a gathering of about 1,000 students at Melumoi village in Gangavaram mandal. Highlighting the rising consumption of drugs, particularly among the student community, Mr. Dudi said drugs might induce temporary pleasure but would lead to long-term health, mental, and family problems. He emphasised that building a drug-free society is everyone’s responsibility and encouraged students to stay away from substance abuse. The SP also spoke about cybercrime threats, including fraudulent calls and messages from criminals impersonating government officials. Students were advised to verify suspicious communications, avoid sharing personal or banking details, and report cybercrime incidents to the 1930 Cybercrime Helpline or through official portals. Given the widespread use of two-wheelers among students, Mr. Dudi stressed the importance of road safety and wearing helmets to prevent severe injuries. Later, the SP distributed helmets to students and encouraged them to take part in a follow-up awareness campaign by submitting photos of themselves wearing helmets for 28 consecutive days. The event also featured a mime performance on women’s safety by students. Additional SP Tarun Pahwa, Deputy SP Degala Prabhakar, Gangavaram Inspector Ram Bhupal, SB Inspector Murali Mohan, and faculty members from nearby educational institutions were present.
