Collector Sumit Kumar reviewing the Sanjeevani healthcare project implementation in Chittoor on Friday. District Collector Sumit Kumar on Friday (March 6) directed officials to ensure the effective implementation of the ‘Sanjeevini’ healthcare project in Punganur Assembly constituency. Reviewing the programme at the Collectorate, he stressed the need for coordinated efforts to strengthen the initiative and expand its reach among the public. He said the review meeting was part of the phase–II expansion of the Sanjeevini project in Chittoor district, under which constituency-wise meetings are being conducted with medical officers. The Sanjeevini centres will provide outpatient (OP) services, home appointment services and referral support to patients, he said. The Collector instructed officials to spread greater awareness among the public about the facility, including online consultations with specialist doctors, so that people can make full use of the services. He noted that the digital platform would enable easy online registration of patient data, allowing doctors to access medical histories, track previous consultations and review medication statuses efficiently. He highlighted the role of AI-based ambient listening technology under the programme, as well as disease follow-up and monitoring of disease burden. Currently, Sanjeevini services are operational at 12 PHCs and UPHCs in the constituency, with five PHCs selected for V-Pods. Officials from the Health Department attended the review meeting.
